Having some unused glass bottles at home are sometimes bothering the eyes. But this lady, Nishi Chauhan, saw a lot more shapes from those kind of bottles around her household.
She turned the unused bottles became an 'animal farm', a collection of creatures which also function as lighting objects. Meet Peeves, Porky, Gerry, Flo, Humf, and Ellie!

Some of you might have know about kopitiam, but let me explain it to the others who might have wondering for some time about it. Kopitiam is a traditional coffee shop that can be found around some Southeast Asia countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Usually run by their local Chinese peoples. The word kopi is Malay for coffee, and tiam is Hokkien dialect word for shop.
So, kopitiam is basically a coffee shop. What makes it different from other cafe is their menu. Kopitiam mostly offer coffee, tea, and Milo (a malted chocolate drink that is very popular in Southeast Asia, and happened to be my favorite too, hehee). They also offer simple foods based on egg, toast, and kaya jam. Some of them also have other traditional Southeast Asian foods like kway tiao, bakmie, and nasi lemak.
Well, kopitiam is one of our favorite place, of course! They serve nice coffee, milo, toast, and some kopitiam in Bandung are also serve dim sum, yay!! Me and Sats love spending our free time chit-chatting in kopitiam just like what we usually do in other coffee shops or cafe. Different atmosphere, different taste, but same pleasure! :)
Anyway, we were just visited the famous Kopitiam Oey that newly opened recently in Braga, Bandung. Since we came a little bit late and they will be closed soon, I only took some "important" picture of my order and eat them up so quickly, hihiii.. Since I don't have their interior picture, I will explain it later when I re-visit this place. But I can tell you that this kopitiam is very homey and the servant are very nice. :)
Milo Dinosaur | 20k |
Milo Dinosaurus is one of my favorite drink when I visit kopitiam, especially since I got pregnant and have to cut down my caffeine consumption. But I prefer it without any whipped cream or jam, cause they kinda interfere the real taste of the Milo.

I was surprised by the food that I ordered that night, Roti Canai Kari Ajam. Aside of my first time tasted, it taste really gooooooddddhh..!! I love the curry consistency. It was a small portion but came with a big taste! Looking forward to visit Kopitiam Oey again soon.. :)

i came here quite often lately. the reasons are obvious: they have many tasty foods on their menu! hahaaa..
the first time i got there really remind me of Mangkok Ayam, one of my favorite Chinese food cafe in Bandung. their menus are just look alike. turns out they really are in the same group, only with different names, Kedai Kopi Scooter.
my favorite? well i like almost all of the foods here. they have various, from bakmie to nasi goreng and kwetiaw. but i think their best are bakmie and hainan rice. oh, and dim sum of course..!! =)

I just found a new place to grab some pizzas. Here in Magic Pizza, you can choose all of the ingredients for your pizza, from the thickness of the bread to the topping of it.
Me and Sats went to this place week while there is a 10% discount for every parts of the pizza, hahaha.. what a coincidence! We had a medium size of thick bread with barbecue sauce, smoked beef, roast chicken, onion, mushroom, and of course mozzarella cheese on the top of them.

We had a little doubt at first, honestly. Whether the taste of the pizza would be a little bit weird, or the topping are just in a small amount. You know, it's natural when you come to a new place to have a little worried, right? But when our pizza came, I just couldn't resist the smell, yummm~ :-9
I like their thick but soft crust, and you can see that the topping and cheese are just generous! This is definitely our new favorite of pizza place. ♥

Have you ever try Babat Gongso? It's a traditional food from Semarang. Basically it's a tripe that sliced and stir-fried with some spices. It taste sweet unless if you ask for a spicy one.
I think this roadside stall is quite new, since we just saw the sign couple weeks ago. "Bang Bhutonk", they only sell Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) and Gongso, both with chicken or tripe.

Ice Thai Tea | 16K |
One day we are stuck and feels like there are no place to go to find a nice cup of tea and relax and maybe have some side dish to eat. Then here we are trying another place in town, Auntie's Pantry. I'm not in the mood of having a dinner so I just order an Iced Thai Tea and a couple Risol, but since their have pasta on the menu, Sats order a Fettuccine Aglio Olio and a cup of Hot Lemon Tea.

Fettuccine Aglio Olio | 28K |
Hot Lemon Tea | 12K |
I am quite a fan of iced Thai tea, but unfortunately this is not my favorite. I like the one that use both liquid and sweet condensed milk together with the Thai tea, it taste richer than the one that only use liquid milk and sugar. The pasta and risol are so-so. Hot lemon tea is nice and it comes with a biscuit.
They have various items on their menu, from Mie Kocok, Iga (ribs), Buntut (tail), to Grill & Steak. For drinks, there are Chocolate, Coffee, Milk, Tea, Juices, Mojitos and Sof Drinks. They also have Light Meals and Pancake.
Price range: 6-43K (exclude service tax)

One night at early July, me, Sats, and our friends were looking for somewhere to have a late dinner. It's almost 9.30 pm so we were a little bit worried because there's only a few cafe that still open on that time here in Bandung.
We tried Warung Garem-Garem. There was no parking car and it looks very quiet there. I went to check if they are still taking order while a guy came and asked us to come inside. He said it's a little bit late but they are still going to take our order. Waaaa~ happy..!! I like restaurants that have never refuse their customers.. :D
Anyway, they said that they are going to have a renovation on the day after and will be close for some days. A few days ago me and Sats went through the restaurant but it turns out that they changed the name of it. I couldn't get it clearly but I'm really sure that it have been opened but with another name. Anyone can tell me what is it and why did they change their name??

It's been a while since my last post.. I think I'm going to share all of my activities last month in a few posts. Just to make it quick.. ;)
Now let's start from the phenomenal Red Velvet Cake, another one-of-the-most famous cake in town. My first try was the one from Bawean here in Bandung. I like the texture of the cake and its cheese cream topping. Despite of its tiny looks, it taste really good with a quite dense texture that fulfilled my tummy with only one cake!
Red Velvet, Bawean - Bandung | 32.5K |
Few days later me and Sats went to Kem Chicks Jakarta and tried their Red Velvet. It was softer, with butter cream instead of cheese. Or they might be added a little amount of cream cheese, I'm not really sure, but it didn't taste like a cheese cream.
Our cousins haven't taste any of Red Velvet Cake before and they bought the whole cake after we had a lunch, so I took one slice for dessert, hehee..
After having lunch, we went to Pacific Place to try another cafe. Mbak Ida told us that there is this phenomenal Red Velvet Cake that every single person could only buy 2 pieces a day, due to its high demand. She asked her friends to take some for us to try.
So here it is, Red Velvet Cake from Union Jakarta. Some said that the original Red Velvet is covered by nut chunks, just like this one. It's my personal taste, but I don't really like nuts on any cake, hehee. But I tell you, this cake was delicious! Almost like the one from Bawean but it's layered. It didn't have a strong cream cheese taste but I'm pretty sure that they are using it for the topping.
After all, for you who wondering what Red Velvet Cake actually is, this might give you a little enlightenment.
Red Velvet Cake is usually a layered chocolate cake that topped with cream cheese. But some people like to use butter cream for substitute the cream cheese. The red comes from adding red food coloring in the cake dough. Beet root is sometimes used for a natural red color for the cake.

It's official! Bandung Super Mall is now called Trans Studio Mall. But I'd rather call it Trans than TSM because it's kinda weird..
Anyway, I went there last week and found this gorgeous purple sneakers from our local brand, League. Immediately put it on my next-to-have list! :D
Had lunch at men_dokoro. Finally got a real ramen! Too bad they don't have the Shoyu Kani Kama, it's my favorite one.

Pssstt.. turns out that men_dokoro is another branch of Shin Men. My hubby first found that they use the same furniture as in Shin Men while I realize that they have exactly the same pictures on their banner except of their name. On that time we were like freeze for a moment,hahaa.. until a man on a black shirt (I think he is the Manager) came and gave us their flyer. We did ask, and he told me that it is actually Shin Men store, with a different name. And they taste exactly the same, yay..!!
