Anyway, I once read a blog that said Toko Coklat have a special cake called Inbox, and I finally tried one. There are two sizes available for this cake. The small one is just a perfect couple for a cup of coffee. The other one is a bit larger so it might be nice for a gift. Wondering why the waitress never offered me this cake before..

Inbox cake is simply a chocolate cake. But I tell you that the taste is not that simple. The cake is very delicate, with a nice chocolate ganache (with a few drops of rhum, I think) in every layers, and cover up by a creamy chocolate. Think I could eat it more and more!

I got invitation to try out Rollaas Cafe last Saturday. They said that it runs by local people and also use local products on their menu. Almost all of the ingredients are came from several farms along Java island, especially their coffee and tea selections.

The place is not too small, with simple interior filled the color of woods and coffees. I guess there will be enough room for about 50 persons there. Quite a nice place to have a casual meeting and friends or family gathering.

So, I ordered Strawberry Blush Smoothie and a hot Macadamia Creme Caramel Latte for Sats. They said that they plant their own macadamia trees, and they grow together with the coffee and chocolate trees on the same farm. Both of these drinks taste good. They even smash the macadamias fresh at Rollaas, with the vintage nutcracker (which I thought so cool, haha..).

Rollaas Fish n Chips and Fettuccine Carbonara for lunch. Taste good, and the one that they served looks almost as same as the one that was on their menu book. The prices are a bit high for some foods but don't have to be worry because they came with quite a big portion. They have various foods to offer by the way. Pizza, steak, pasta, and also some of Indonesian dish like Sop Buntut and Rawon.

Finally, Rollaas Black Coffee, their specialize. Their coffee was good actually. And the option is vary, from espresso to peppermint for hot coffee, and a lot more of iced coffee infusions. They said that the owner asked a professional barista to make special mixes for their menu. Well, I really want to try every single of them. But maybe another time, since I still have to cut my caffeine consumption because of this baby bump, hihii..

There is this new place selling Italian gelato in town called Zaza. I saw it few weeks ago but tried it just yesterday. Got a little confused when I had to choose but then I go with this Blueberry Yoghurt. The gelato is just as smooth as silk! I mean it's like really really smooth, melt in your mouth..
There are lots of options for their gelato, from Strawberry, Cookie n Cream, to Nutella and some other various unfamiliar flavors that they mixed. Located in one place with Blitzmegaplex, the place is not really big. With an open space design, they add a few tables and high chairs so customers could sit while having their gelato.

I just found a new place to grab some pizzas. Here in Magic Pizza, you can choose all of the ingredients for your pizza, from the thickness of the bread to the topping of it.
Me and Sats went to this place week while there is a 10% discount for every parts of the pizza, hahaha.. what a coincidence! We had a medium size of thick bread with barbecue sauce, smoked beef, roast chicken, onion, mushroom, and of course mozzarella cheese on the top of them.

We had a little doubt at first, honestly. Whether the taste of the pizza would be a little bit weird, or the topping are just in a small amount. You know, it's natural when you come to a new place to have a little worried, right? But when our pizza came, I just couldn't resist the smell, yummm~ :-9
I like their thick but soft crust, and you can see that the topping and cheese are just generous! This is definitely our new favorite of pizza place. ♥

One night at early July, me, Sats, and our friends were looking for somewhere to have a late dinner. It's almost 9.30 pm so we were a little bit worried because there's only a few cafe that still open on that time here in Bandung.
We tried Warung Garem-Garem. There was no parking car and it looks very quiet there. I went to check if they are still taking order while a guy came and asked us to come inside. He said it's a little bit late but they are still going to take our order. Waaaa~ happy..!! I like restaurants that have never refuse their customers.. :D

Anyway, they said that they are going to have a renovation on the day after and will be close for some days. A few days ago me and Sats went through the restaurant but it turns out that they changed the name of it. I couldn't get it clearly but I'm really sure that it have been opened but with another name. Anyone can tell me what is it and why did they change their name??

It's been a long time since the last time I came to Tree House. I used to spend a lot of time with Sats and our friends here because we love the place, their food, their drink, and the fast internet connection that they have! :D
Last Friday I came back and found something new about the place. They changed the menu, add some new foods and beverages on it, and they have improving their food and beverages styling. Love those latte art on the Hug Mugs..

Over all, I like all of the foods that we ordered that night but one, the Spaghetti With Spicy Grill Beef. It's not that I don't like the taste. It taste quite good actually, but kinda weird in the same time. I appreciate the modification that the chef made with the pasta. But creamy pasta with Bangkok's sambal? I don't think they make a great fusion.

Have a nice dinner at Warung Garem Garem last night with Sats, Dadi and Hasto. Cute table number!
Anyway, "Garem Garem" literally means "Salt Salt", but don't worry because they are not serving salty foods. ;)
It's a Green Tea Smoothies. Nothing wrong with the lighting, the smoothies was just not really have a green color like the usual green tea smoothies I have. Taste good, but I barely feel the green tea, too much milk/cream I think..??
Finally found another place that have chamomile. We like chamomile tea a lot, they are really good especially when we feel a little bit unwell, but it's kinda rare in Bandung right now.
They have various Mojito with fruit taste.

I tried their Homemade Cheese & Chicken Ragout. It's quite good, but I think they used too much cheese. It's not balanced with the chicken. I also took a bite of every order on our table, hehee.. I like their pasta. Both spaghetti and fettuccine are well cooked. The Aglio E Olio was fine, it's the first time I ever tried an anchovy with pasta. I also like the creamy Don Miguel.
By the way, they also have a breakfast menu, from 6.30 to 10.00 a.m. Garem Garem serve Italian American and Indonesian cuisines. All price range: IDR 7K - 110K.

Sats once ask me why I wrote the word "macaron" instead of "macaroon" on my first post about it. Who knows that missing an "o" in a word could cause so many problem?? For you that think a macaroon is a cute and colorful little dessert made of egg white and filled with jam, nnnggggg.. you might get it wrong. Well, not completely wrong, since the English word "macaroon" is derived from the French "macaron". I might not a true expert here but I love them so much that make me feel like I have to let you guys know that the right word is actually "macaron", drop one of the o please!
MacarOn is known as a French dessert, although there has been much debates about its origin because some have traced that an Italian pastry chef brought them to France. It's a sandwich-like pastry that come in a variety of colors and flavors.
Here is the basic split of a single macaron:
1 part cookie [ground almonds + egg white + sugar] +
1 part filling [buttercream, ganache, jam] +
1 part cookie [ground almonds + egg white + sugar] =
1 complete macaron [happiness] :)

While macarOOn is a small cake or meringue-like cookie. Although both macarOn and macarOOn use egg whites, they look totally different. MacarOOns usually use coconut (the American way) in their ingredient, and sometimes topped with a tiny slice of cherry

You might know that the "oo" in macarOOn spells like "broom" or "room". Now how to spell macarOn? It's "maka-ron" just like the name Ron. Few people pronounce it like it rhymes with the vowels in "room" but I go with the short one.
So, for you that have been wondering, I hope this could help. ;)
I read about this new restaurant about a month ago but just got time to visit it yesterday, Plate For Me.
It wows me when I first went in. Just look at those plates with random pictures on all over the wall! There's a drum filled with wine bottles, and the lamp in the corner is cool! It was made of a totem cups. The interior is awesome. I even like the ceiling, hahaa.. I know that some of the decorations are actually quite simple, but here in Bandung, you will not see this kind of decors everyday. That's why I'm very happy when I find some.. (^▼^)
A few minutes later..
I went to the toilet and glad to have the same theme inside, they also put plates on the entire wall. But a minute later I found out that the pictures on the plates are stickers. Well I'm not saying that was not good, I get it, have a print on a plate is a lot more expensive, but the thing is, I really believed that those plates are printed, so I was a little bit disappointed, just a little..
Until the foods and drinks came.. That was the time when I got more disappointed. I got a few points here..
Sats ordered a Fettuccine Alfredo. First of all, all of us are agree that the fettuccine was overcooked. And another thing that bothered me were the peas. I never had fettuccine alfredo with peas. Broccoli maybe works, but peas? I don't really thing so..
Here is my fave, Spaghetti Aglio E Olio. Amen ordered it, and the spaghetti was just a little bit undercooked. What's up with the chef?? However, overall this dish taste good. :)
I got myself a Caesar Salad, but it looks like the kitchen is running out of ingredients. I mean, where is the egg, and the chicken, or the smoked beef?? I only got some slices of fresh lettuce, onion, and tomato, with a pinch of parmesan and some sliced toasted bread and the dressing.
And let's wrap the last ones quickly..
I didn't really like the Manggo Combo (or Manggo-something, I forgot its name), they put too much water so it taste flavorless. The Iced Mojito was also flavorless. Well, I kinda taste the lemon (since a huge part of it was flying in my glass), and the soda, but not the mint! And oh please, why did you guys used a damaged mint? It has brown spots on the mint leaves! (--___--)
The Bruschetta were really not good at all. The baguette sliced too thick, the pepperoni stinks, fatty minced beef, I'm so sorry but those 3 bruschetta were the worst dish on that night..
No offense, but this is just what is happening throughout yesterday night. And for the record, that was the first time that my request got rejected in a restaurant. I was asking if the spaghetti aglio e olio could be replaced by fettuccine aglio e olio. I thought it was a simple one. But if that was the chef's provision, I could only bear.
So, after that night, I have to deal with my need-to-be-pleasure eyes, nose and stomach. Now looking for some nice food for this weekend.. I think me and Sats are going out with the girls again next Sunday, we'll see.. Have a nice weekend everyone! (^.^)
