Have a nice dinner at Warung Garem Garem last night with Sats, Dadi and Hasto. Cute table number!

Anyway, "Garem Garem" literally means "Salt Salt", but don't worry because they are not serving salty foods. ;)

It's a Green Tea Smoothies. Nothing wrong with the lighting, the smoothies was just not really have a green color like the usual green tea smoothies I have. Taste good, but I barely feel the green tea, too much milk/cream I think..??

Finally found another place that have chamomile. We like chamomile tea a lot, they are really good especially when we feel a little bit unwell, but it's kinda rare in Bandung right now.

They have various Mojito with fruit taste.

I tried their Homemade Cheese & Chicken Ragout. It's quite good, but I think they used too much cheese. It's not balanced with the chicken. I also took a bite of every order on our table, hehee.. I like their pasta. Both spaghetti and fettuccine are well cooked. The Aglio E Olio was fine, it's the first time I ever tried an anchovy with pasta. I also like the creamy Don Miguel.

By the way, they also have a breakfast menu, from 6.30 to 10.00 a.m. Garem Garem serve Italian American and Indonesian cuisines. All price range: IDR 7K - 110K.

Lombok Cuisine

I like trying different kind of cafe and restaurant, even roadside stall! I don't really have any specific criteria for a place. But one thing that I can't stand is a lot of rejection. Well, one or two might be fine with me, any restaurant could have run out of food, right? Or maybe it just me that is not lucky that time. But when you couldn't serve more than a half of the menu, you should have told the customer before they ordered!

Our friends in Uni asked us to join them to this restaurant. I have heard about "Rumah Makan Taliwang Bersaudara" before, some said that their Ayam Taliwang were really good, so I think it would be nice to try their dish since we have never tried any Lombok cuisine. I think we arrived there at about 8 p.m, looked at the menu, and asked the waiter to come.

At first I wanted to order a Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice), he said they run out of that one, and then I tried to order this and that, and he said that they are also run out of those ones.. After that, I asked him what do they have right now in the kitchen. He said that they only have Ayam (Chicken) and Sate Pusut, so we ordered those two.

It took a long time before our chicken arrived, I thought that they were just grilled it, but no, it was cold. And much longer we waited for the Sate Pusut. We have finished the chicken but the Sate Pusut was never come. I called the waiter and told him to cancel it. That's it! No more waiting!

By the way, despite of the cold grilled chicken, it taste good. Better when it still hot, I bet! But for you that don't really like spicy food, beware! because it's really hooott!!

A little advice for customer, come there at lunch! They might have all foods on their menu by that time. But I think the restaurant owner is really have to fix this issue.

Roadside Stall

I just got back from a family gathering last weekend. Not a usual gathering like dinner together or have a lunch party in the backyard, but we rent an outbound area, play some games, chit chatting with the whole family until midnight, sleep in tents, and do the Team High Ropes together on the second day. It was totally fun!

Anyway, I will share the pictures with you guys later because I still have some reviews that have to be done before the end of the month..

Now let's get started with Pondok Nasgor Cak Jali. One of our favorite roadside stall.

Cak Jali, Nasi Telur, Koloke Udang, Lychee Squash

"Pondok Nasgor Cak Jali" literally means "Mr. Jali's Fried Rice Hut". Yup, they serve various of fried rice, and some other dish that suits with it.

Open from around 5 p.m until midnight, this is just the perfect place for having a late dinner with quite a huge portion and inexpensive price and of course, a tasty one! :)

My all time favorite here in Cak Jali, Koloke Udang.. yummm~

The Taste Of Colombia

Me and Sats love coffee so much that we almost couldn't went through a day without it. Couple months ago we saw this new product of Starbucks Indonesia in one of their store, I think the one in Paris Van Java Mall. Sats have tasted it, but we were in a rush and not really interested back then.

Last week we came to Starbucks BIP in a more relaxed way and bought a pack of Starbucks VIA Colombia to try at home later. And later on, we tried it and we were like, oh wow! this is definitely be our favorite! hahaa..

Sometimes we do need a quick instant coffee (me and Sats actually drink instant coffee almost everyday), but we want it smooth and taste nice too, just like the one we have in the coffee shop. For this ready brew VIA, they take the same roasted beans that they use in their Starbucks stores and create a blend of instant and microground coffee to be enjoyed whenever and wherever.

Oh hey, I love their trademark:

"Never be without great coffee."

Meet Katie Rodgers of Paper Fashion, one of my favorite illustrator. She really inspire me in so many ways from the way she uses watercolor for illustrating, until how she choose and arrange decorations for her lovely apartment. And this is the place where the magic happens..

Now that's what I called a fine office space! Think I could spend hours and hours on that table.. :P

Bicycle Club

'Bicycle Club' by NL architects, Hainan, China

Designed by Amsterdam-based NL architects, 'Bicycle Club' is a super great idea of a cycling arena. Using the form of the traditional and functional pagoda, they designed the rooftop elegantly curved upward.

At the ground level, there is a glass-enclosed cafe that supported the open-air velodrome on the rooftop.

Despite of the loud sound and rain controversy on the article's comments column, I really like the idea of the velodrome on the rooftop because it looks fun! And the shady cafe underneath it would be a great place for the cyclists after a few lap of cycling under the sun.

This is what I did in Muara Bungo - Jambi. We called it "malam bainai" in Sumatra. Literally, it means "henna night". The night before wedding day, the bride's nails will be given henna, so that on the wedding day she has a beautiful red nails.

Usually they use the henna only on their nails, but my cousin want it on both of her hands (just like the Indian bride), so as her wish, I draw her hands, both front and back sides. Too bad I didn't get a chance to take a picture of her palm hand in the morning.

Happy wedding day, my dear sister..!! :)

It's been so long since my last post. I just got back from Jambi for my cousin's wedding with my mom and got quite a severe flu. :( But then this last 7 days has been so amazing with a lot of cake and cookie orders. Baking is exhausting when you have to do it all alone (we no longer have any house maid now), but smelling the cake or cookies right after they leaved the oven is just one of the best thing in the world! hahaa..

The Famous Rainbow Cake

Nowadays, people in my country are keep posting about rainbow cake everywhere, on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, I guess that's happen in some of other country too. Well thanks to Martha Stewart, the Rainbow Cake is really has became like one of the most famous cake in the world!

I do curious about it taste, so when Sats went to Sugarush (again), I asked him to bought me one slice of it.

Rainbow Cake

Well.. It taste good, even though I did expect something more than just a good regarding to its famous name on the social networks. I like that they use cheese creme rather than a butter cream, it makes the cake taste not too sweet. The cake is sweet enough but not really moist though, probably because the use of food coloring.

But there is something that I don't really like about this take-away-cake, it is the packaging. Honestly, at the first time I saw it, my appetite were almost gone, even though Sats told me that it's a cake inside the styrofoam food container. I mean, how could you put a cute little slice of cake inside a big styrofoam food container that usually being used for meals?
