Bicycle Club

'Bicycle Club' by NL architects, Hainan, China
Designed by Amsterdam-based NL architects, 'Bicycle Club' is a super great idea of a cycling arena. Using the form of the traditional and functional pagoda, they designed the rooftop elegantly curved upward.

At the ground level, there is a glass-enclosed cafe that supported the open-air velodrome on the rooftop.

Despite of the loud sound and rain controversy on the article's comments column, I really like the idea of the velodrome on the rooftop because it looks fun! And the shady cafe underneath it would be a great place for the cyclists after a few lap of cycling under the sun.

  1. That is awesome - a great way to fit a velodrome into a crowded city. Is that a model? Or did they actually build it? If it's real, I might have to go check it out. I do a lot of traveling with my bike, and I love to see how different cities integrate cycling into the existing infrastructure.

    1. They haven't build it actually. But still it is a great idea, right? I can't wait to see they build a real one..
