Smells Like Coffee

I love sweet treats. He loves savory ones. One of the best place in Bandung to have both of them is at Sukha Delights. We love the place, the foods, and their hospitality. Me and S, we are those kind of people who just love to ask about anything to pretty much anyone. That's why we love places with friendly people around.

That day we have a very nice cake and croissant. L'amour - a blackcurrant layered cheesecake, and Croissant Goulash - a crispy croissant with beef bulgogi, egg and cheese.

My little monster had cough and a sore throat, and here comes the food strikes again! He now turns his nose up at everything except cold milk and juice. Well, at least there is something went into that tiny belly.

Today I made this little muffins, with a little wish that he would take some bites along with his milk on dinner time. And the result was: he took a couple bites of the one with almonds on top, ate all of the almond slices on it, then bite another one with the chocolate chips, and that's all.

Yaahh.. namanya juga lagi GTM, yasudlah! Poting semoga bb-nya tetep naik dan anaknya sehat terus aja deh, amiinn..

Anyway, I got the recipe of those basic vanilla muffins from Kidspot Kitchen here, made a little adjustments, and just add almond slices and chocolate chips on top before they goes to the oven. You could also add some other ingredients for topping, or add 1 cup of other ingredients like dried fruits or chocolate into the dough before pouring it into the muffin liners for extra filling.

Bikin basic vanilla muffins ini super gampang deh..

Here is one of the biggest things this year: our little Q was turning one!

Times flies.. I do still remember how he was being such a nice and kind little baby growing in my womb for months. No morning sicks, no nausea time, and he was very cooperative during those days, thanks God! And I still remember how all of the pain was like suddenly gone on the second that he was born. It's all worth it.

They say..

"a baby's first birthday is also a mom's first birthday"

..and it's totally true! I learned soooo many new things since the very first day I met this little angel. And still got so much to learn in the future. The first year was like the most trying year of my life. After all, we are so glad that we have him in our life.

We didn't want to held a big birthday party for Q, but we did want something to be remembered a few years later. After days of so called research, hahaa.. we decided to make a little smash cake party for him. I made this sugarless banana birthday cake with cream cheese frosting and put a simple decoration on the top of it.

Ondy ordered a chicken steak. I was quite impressed with how nice the presentation was. You won't find many good food presentation if you go to some cafe here in Bandung, unless you go to a fine and expensive restaurant. That's why I really appreciate every single chef that doing a well done presentation for the customer no mater where they are, and even if it is a simple one. We do love to see how our food looks fresh and nice when they arrive at the table, don't we?
